Do you have the HD add on ?
there is a quirk with C5 (& C4 I think) in that you can watch & record from the live HD channel but need the HD add on to download & watch in HD
If you do not have the HD add on best to change the default download preference to SD:
Main Menu -> Settings -> Setup -> Preferences
(Please note this setting can only be set on the Main box)
