Disney+ subscription Standard with adds via Sky

I bought Disney+ subscription via Sky, standard with adds. Since I am unable to play any series. It starts with adds which run fine for one minute but when the series is to start it just freezes. I then go back and have to watch the adds again hoping the show will start but it does not . Feels like I'm paying just to watch the adds! I tried Disney+ help line but they were after good hour plus unable to sort out the issue and basically say it is a Sky problem not a Disney+ problem. I have a Sky Q box. No issues with Paramount or Netflix which I also have with Adds on. Anyone able to help as I find the whole thing incredibly frustrating. Do I just cancel the whole thing or can it be fixed?

This sounds very similar to the Disney+ "black screen" issue which is / was affecting a lot of people.  What software version is your Sky box on?

btw it's "ads" (short for advertisements) not "adds" as in the maths thing.
