Do you need to subscribe to BT TnT to access Discovery +?

App says we have a linked account but can't log in. Rang sky after being passed to 5 people who were going to help with sign in to be eventually told we need to subscribe to Tnt to access Discovery +

It doesn't say that anywhere that i can find other than it's free for Sky tv users

A subscription is only required to access the premium tier (mostly sports content)

A percentage of Sky users report ongoing problems with just logging in though.
