Discovery plus error 1K-0043

I've had this error on my discovery plus app on sky q since the outage a few days ago. I've tried another reset but still getting the error. Can anyone suggest a fix please?

Same, very annoying as I'd like to watch the Champions league final tonight.

Forgot to say.... it's working on my phone/tablet but not coming on sky Q. Very annoying as I would like to watch on my big telly! 

The main menu shows but whatever I press to watch the error appears.

So, as well as my discovery + app not working o sky q, my netflix app was also coming up with an error which I couldn't unblock. I called Sky technical support today and a helpful chap went through a couple of different resets and it cleared the errors on both apps. All working fine again now. If you're still struggling, give them a call and they should be able to sort it.

Thank you, no issues with Netflix as of yet....

Can you try the following, even though you may have done some of it.


Remove the power form the Sky Q main box.

Restart your broadband router.

When your router is back up, power back your Sky Q box.

Let it settle for five minutes or so when back up.

Try Discovery + again.

 

If you are still having an issue starting Discovery +, you can then try an app refresh.

  1. Press Home on your Sky Q remote, then highlight Settings
  2. Press 0,0,1 and Select to access the Installer menu
  3. Select Apps then highlight Refresh all Apps on this box. You'll see a message that says, 'Your apps are being refreshed'.
  4. Press Dismiss to return to normal viewing.

The refresh sometimes can take up to 24 hours to complete.

I've tried to post the number but it's blocking it and won't allow me to. If you Google 'Sky help number' it's that one. Did have to go through an automated menu which wanted to arrange an engineer call out. Eventually transferred to technical support and the reset took about 10 minutes. I wasn't hopeful as I'd had several conversations with Sky  Help on Twitter and they couldn't solve it, but now working again  Let me know how you get on

Still no luck. I messaged discovery plus direct, this is what they sent me 

 

Good Evening Bethan, thanks for contacting us. Error code 1K-0043 on Discovery+ indicates a Gateway Timeout Error, which means there is an issue with the connection between the user and the Discovery+ server. Please try the troubleshooting steps below. Thanks, Brian.

1. Switch off the device you're using to access discovery+ and restart the Wi-Fi router (leave the router off for 1 minute).

2. Make sure you're not using a VPN.

3. Disable all ad-blockers.

4. Connect your device to the Ethernet cable or move closer to the router.

 

Still not working! Will try and ring sky tomorrow after work.

I would persevere with Sky technical help if I were you. I could access Discovery + on other devices and also on my Sky mini box so it was clear the problem was with the main Sky Q box

So I'm cross posting a bit as I don't have Sky Q - I have Sky Stream - but exactly same issue.

 

However... here's an odd thing: Discovery+ app on Sky Stream Device gets the error... but just running the native Discovery+ app on my Samsung TV? No problem, works fine.

 

So yeah, seems like an issue at Sky end of the pipe.
