Delays acknowledging remote button presses on Mini box

Hi, 

we seem to have an issue with our mini boxes where remote control button presses are taking a while to be actioned. 
Changing channel takes 5 secs, screen goes black then another 5 secs it actually loads the selected channel. 
Similarly try to rewind or fast forward a recording, it takes a while to recognise the button press before actioning, meaning we now have to guess when adverts will end when fast forwarding otherwise it continues to fast forward into the programme we want to watch. Used to just happen on BBC but now on all button presses. 
Getting quite annoying now

Try rebooting the main box.  All mini activity is hosted there.

If the main box is slow to respond too then it could point to an issue.
