Connecting sky q mini without internet

My grandmother is due to return home from hospital soon and I want to connect a sky q mini to a tv in her bedroom. However, she does not have internet at her house so is this possible to do via Ethernet connection without a router being present? I have a spare mini box - can that be used? No issue buying a new box if that's required, it's just the lack of internet that I think might be a problem. She already has a sky q main box. Thanks

@dave2506  I'm not sure I understand this correctly

Are you thinking of taking the mini to a different address?  If so it won't work and would be against the T & C's you agreed to to do so.

The Sky Q mini has to be connected to the main box at the registered address.

hi @dave2506

I am afraid Minis do require an internet connection - I don't know all the ins & outs  but I think part of the authorisation for the minis is via the internet .

The miniboxes require a main SkyQ box to operate, is there one in the building? If not then no you can't, and it isn't possible to use to use SkyQ hardware registered to a different address..

Yes there's already a main sky Q box at her house and there's no issue in upgrading her subscription to get a new mini box to use. The big issue is whether they can be connected and work without a router or the internet, which she doesn't have.

@dave2506  In that case I think you will struggle getting it connected as it would need to be authorised when you receive the mini from Sky.

Does the main Sky Q box get used by other householders?  If not it may be easier to move that and extand the satellite cables instead.

A previous discussion - definitely need a router - there is a slight doubt over the internet once authorised:
