Hi
I have recently moved away from sky broadband in favour of better speeds from an alternative provider.
i wish to maintain sky Q with my main box and 2 minis connected via WiFi in my house.
In addition, I have a mini connected via Ethernet to the new modem in my detached garage, but I can't seem to get it working.
Specifically it seems to fail at the wps (stage 2) of the set up.
Can anyone offer a step by step to determine where I may be going wrong, please?
Thanks in advance.

Hi @Warrens
Exactly what is the new modem in your garage?
The mini must be on the same network as your main Q box.

I don't think my grammar helped.
The modem is a Linksys provided by BeFibre and there is a network cable running directly from that to a sky Q mini in my detached garage.
The main sky Q and two other minis are connected to the same network via WiFi as they are in all in my house.

Hi @Warrens
Afraid the mini will only connect to the same device as your main Q box.
Unless you have Sky Broadband in your House the mini must be connected to the main Box

The main sky q is connected to my new BeFibre network via WiFi.
the sky q mini is connected to the same network via an Ethernet cable.
Should this work, in theory?

hi @Warrens
Unfortunately not - when your home network is not SKY, a mini connected via ethernet must also connect to the Main box via ethernet - this can be direct, via a router or unmanaged switch but both must be ethernet

I appreciate the feedback.
i presume if i simply put a wireless access point in my garage (connected back to the hub in my house via Ethernet) and then connect the mini to that via WiFi, it should work?

That's still not the same as connecting by WiFi to the same hub as the main Q box @Warrens
Sky minis will not connect to 3rd party WiFi extenders.

I guess it's time to ditch the sky mini box in my garage then...more hassle than it's worth!
appreciate the feedback
