Hi folks, hoping for some help with our Q setup following broadband provider change.
We had SkyQ multiroom installed about a year ago. The engineer placed two Sky Routers to bounce the signal between Q boxes. One of these boxes was connected via ethernet to our broadband router; the other doesn't have an ethernet port.
We have now changed to fibre internet and the new fibre router is in a different place so cannot connect directly to the sky router. I have tried reversing the two sky routers so the one with the ethernet socket plugs in to the new fibre router, but they do not connect to the internet.
A similar (but not identical) question was asked here: Changing Wifi Network - Mini Box not connecting - Page 2 | Sky Community but the answers are not visible.
Thanks in advance

Hi @Repton86
Try the following procedure.
First reset your broadband router.
On 3rd party broadband and your router does not have a reset button, reboot it by disconnecting the power lead for 30 secs and then reconnecting.
Wait until the router is completely back and running and then try a Network Reset found in Q box Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Follow instructions to connect by WiFi to your router. Even if reset is not listed there is still an option to connect by WiFi to Sky or 3rd party router
On 3rd party (non Sky ) broadband then you need to enter the SSID and password for the router 2.4 Ghz WiFi band which I'm sure you are aware.
When the main Q box is back up and running reboot the mini.
To reboot press Standby on your mini remote (if the box responds to the remote), and then switch off and unplug at the mains.
Wait at least 30 secs and then Plug back in and switch your mini box back on at the mains.
Wait for the on screen instructions to disappear and the front led to turn Amber. Then wait for 30 secs before you press Home on your mini remote or if this is not working press the standby button on the front of the mini box (Amber led)
note: some features may take up to 5 minutes to return.
As soon as the mini is back up and running try another Network Reset on the mini.
Network Reset found in mini Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Follow instructions to WPS with main Q box.
You will be asked to press the WPS button on the main Q box (not the mini as the Network reset will start the mini WPS automatically).
Failing all of the above you may need a Sky Q WiFi Booster to position midway between your main Q box and the mini and you will need to contact Sky directly.

Thank you @oldfella, I will try your suggestion.

I have tried @oldfella's suggestion and no joy.
The mini box cannot connect directly to the main box as it is too far away. The main box is now connected to our new 3rd party router. The mini box doesn't give the option to connect directly to our new network - instead it insists on connecting only to Sky Q products (the main box or the Sky Q routers which the engineer fitted when Sky Q installed).
I have been able to connect one of these routers to something (presumably the main box - impossible to tell what it is connected to but all three lights green).
At this point I was able to get the mini box to get to step 4 of the (very slow) connection process only for it to give up.
I have not been able to connect the second router.

Nevermind, I retried what I have tried the first time (reversing the sky Q routers) and now it's working fine.
Thanks for your input.

It's difficult to know what exactly the 2 extra boxes are. Are they similar or completely different?
I'm guessing at least 1 is a booster and just sounds like the distance between main and mini is too great. To persist with this setup it would seem like you still need both "boosters" but sounds like at least 1 isn't co-operating. I would try to play around with the placement of the booster that seems to be working ( if possible). I presume moving it closer to mini but this is into an area of total trial and error.
For anyone who has read any of my posts, they will know I usually mention powerline adaptors. Again physical distance between boxes could be an issue but something to look into if there is no progress with the boosters.
