Channel 5 disappeared
Hi we haven't been able to watch Channel 5 for some time now on Sky. Called several telephone numbers and eventually spoke to a human being who said Sky were aware and it could up to a year before it is fixed. Is this right or were we being fobbed off? Surely Sky should be informing all its customers if this is the case and offering compensation or a discount!

Re: Channel 5 disappeared
Any error messages on your screen when trying to view Ch5? What have you tried already? It's certainly not affecting all Sky Q customers.

As there have been no other similar posts, that would seem incredibly unlikely.

I'd observe that Channel 5 is a free-to-air public broadcast channel, and so not paid for by a Sky subscription fee.
Difficulties receiving a particular broadcast channel are almost always a dish issue (or one relating to a communal signal distribution system)

Re: Channel 5 disappeared
All other channels work fine and we did have channel 5 previously with no problems. Can't remember exactly what the error message said as I'm not at home at the moment, but just surprised to be told by a Sky employee that they are aware of the issue and to wait indefinitely as eventually it will be fixed but could be up to a year ...

Simply not correct, and a really weird thing to be told.

The loss of even one channel on satellite due to a known fault as suggested by this CS agent would be big news,
Methinks they were new/clutching at straws as didn't know the answer.
As suggested by fellow posters it's more likely to be a dish issue
