My new box is due in an hour or so but the message I received today says "Remember to have the other item ready for a speedy exchange with your driver." Do they just take the old Q box as is as I don't have any packaging for it? I thought they need the remote, cable and power supply as well?

They'll put your old box, power supply etc in the box that they bring the new box in. Just remember to take your viewing card out! Make sure you get a new power cable with the new box as not all boxes use the same kind of supply.

hi @Anonymous

Yes you need to have the box ready as they take your old one in the same packaging the new comes with.

Make sure you check the power supply cable - if  2TB some have & need  a separate power supply (small multi pin on back of Q)

In theory need to swap remote & HDMI cable but you could just end the new ones back

Don't forget to take out your Viewing card before giving your old box over

Cheers, I'm going to do a factory reset now so it's all ready. It's an old 1TB box I've got so definitely going to need a new power supply I'd have thought.

only one type of 2TB box has the separate power supply  - all the rest just use the same standard figure of 8 cable (which the separate power supply also uses as input)

As I say, if expecting a 2TB box just check the back of the new Q box - if a figure of 8 you are OK - if a multipin connector then make sure there is a separete power supply in with it

Yes, I've just unplugged the box. I could have sworn it had a power pack at the back but it was just the figure of 8 lead.

It does have the separate power supply as it happens but everything was safely tucked away in the box. Cheers.
