As the title really,
The soundbox does not pass anything through, or output any sound if my Sky Q box is set to 10 bit colour mode.
Upon doing a google search, it appears as if the soundbox should support 10 bit / HDR, but the reviews I saw were back from a few years back.
If I connect my Q box directly to the TV, the 10 bit setting works fine, just when the soundbox is in the loop I have issues.
8 bit mode works fine.
I read on the German forum that there is a software update for the soundbox, but the link is no longer valid, and I don't even know if this will solve the issue.
Does anybody have any suggestions? I have already tried different HDMI cables.
Thanks,
Ben

Hi @Benek I also have the Sky Soundbox and it works with no issues whilst watching F1 UHD/HDR content
Sky Q connected to HDMI in on Sky Soundbox then Sky Soundbox HDMI out connected to HDMI 1 on LG TV

Thanks
So it should work then... I don't think my cables are the issue, I have tried the original Sky HDMI cables, as well as my slightly longer ones (which are claimed as HDMI 2.1). As soon as I enable 10 bit mode, the screen goes blank and sound cuts off.
Using any of the cables, with the TV connected straight to the Q box, 10 bit works fine.
The fact that the sound drops out from the soundbox when selecting 10 bit mode makes me think that it's the soundbox that's the issue rather than the TV.
I could probably use the optical input to the soundbox, either fed from the optical out of the TV or Q box as a workaround to this problem, but then the Q sound features won't appear, and I do use the night mode.

Fair comment @Benek
These are my Audio and Visual settings on my Sky Q box
This is what I get when I select F1 UHD and also that my Sky Soundbox is in the loop you only get the Q features when the Sky Q box is connected to the Sky Soundbox
Have you tried a different HDMI port on your tv?

When going via the Soundbox you will be routing via the ARC port on your TV - Have you double checked that the ARC Port HDMI settings are set to full HDR as often (if not most of the time) the settings are per HDMI
(Sorry I don't know what setting as they do vary by manufacturer - things like Deep Color, Enhanced or just Mode)

@nigea99 I don't think the Soundbox supports ARC, but I have made sure that the both HDMI 2.0 ports on my tv are set to 'Enhanced' mode. Like I said, if I unplug the cable from the Q box to the Soundbox, and plug that straight into the TV, 10 bit/HDR mode works just fine.
@best+of+the+best Thanks for the images, i'll check the settings when I am back at home, but I have a feeling that they are the same, except I only have Dolby Digital set rather than DD plus.
I have a feeling that I must have some kind of handshaking issue between the soundbox and my TV that is only apparent when using the 10 bit mode. I'll have another fiddle and swap around of cables and see if I get any change.

Well, just incase someone else has this issue, it was the way I had my cables routed. I seperated the power cable that I had running next to the HDMI that was going from the Q box to the soundbox, and all was fine.
Strange because it worked fine routed this way if the soundbox wasn't part of the equation.
Anyway, all is now sorted, and who would have thought it was something so small causing the problem.
