Hi, our Sky Q box exhibits an annoying, intermittent problem characterised by a brief drop of output to our TV. The duration is no longer than 2-3 seconds and is a loss of output, NOT of satellite signal. This only occurs with the Sky Q box, our blu-ray player output is not afflicted by this problem.
We've tried all the suggestions on the Sky site (reboot, software update, etc.) but to no avail. We've also changed the hdmi cable, each time using high quality 2.1 compliant connectors, and the input port once. Any help or additional suggestions would be much appreciated.

Re: Brief, intermittent loss of Sky Q output
Meant to add that the dropout is sound and vision simultaneously & we changed hdmi cables twice.

Re: Brief, intermittent loss of Sky Q output
I'm having exactly same issue. I think the boxes are nearing end of useful life and maybe not compatible with modern tvs

Re: Brief, intermittent loss of Sky Q output
Interesting. I'm actively considering dropping Sky, especially if they start switching to streaming only.

I think they will switch satellite of around 2027/8. Falling out the sky I read and too expensive to launch another

@hifiman2007 It will be after 2029 as Sky signed a contract extension with SES for satellite use until 2029

I did say around😀. Still dissapointing as streaming live TV...can be problematic and revising facilities are very useful

Re: Brief, intermittent loss of Sky Q output
I've had a suggestion from another forum that the problem may be with my Samsung TV. He suggested removing the aerial input & switching off HDMI+ on all inputs. Apparently this is a known problem on Samsung tvs. I'll report back if this works.

Unfortunately, changing the Samsung settings didn't work. Heigh-ho, I'll try a few other things before attempting to contact a human at Sky.

Still happening. Unplugged from mains usually gives a few days trouble free but not ideal. Without doubt a box problem.
