Just had a broadband engineer out as we keep loosing signal in one of the rooms, the room in question is what was an outside wall so the signal is not strong coming in through the room were the router is, engineer has recommended we need a tv engineer to hard wire through into the other room that drops signal, we have tried to book a tv engineer and been told we don’t require one!! And refused to send someone can anyone suggest how I go about getting round this????

@Bake  Which TV Service do you have?  Sky+HD, Sky Q, Sky Glass or Sky Stream?

The 1st 2 use a satellite dish to deliver live channels, your wif would not affect these 2 systems.

If you have Sky Glass or Stream these use your broadband connection and would not get a TV engineer as there is no such support.  If the engineer means to install ethernet then that is on you to arrange Sky don't provide such a service.

@Bake you might want to take a look at power line adaptors, for which no engineer is required. You can easily install them yourself.

We have sky Q I have a computer used for work in the room that's not getting enough signal, we have just updated to a new router and since then we have had trouble the broadband engineer has suggest that a tv engineer needs to come out and put a cable from a pod in the same room as the router through to another pod in the room in question he couldn't do it as he didn't carry a drill

@Bake  That is something you can do yourself with either powerline adapters as per @Mark39  sugggestion or ethernet cables.
