Bob

Why can't I watch F1 recordings via my mini boxes when I can direct from my Q box? I have a  full sports subscription!

If you normally watch F1 on the UHD channel 406 you won't be able to watch that on your mini box so try channel 857 on the mini box.

Re: Bob

I can watch it live via my mini boxes, but can't it watch via the mini boxes if I record on 406. Just set up to record on 857 and will wait to see if I can watch it on record. Will update when Austrian Grand Prix is finished.

To clarify: channel 406 is now UHD for those with a UHD subscription. So if you record this afternoons GP on 406 you can watch it back on your main box (if you have the UHD add-on). As mini boxes are not able to support UHD you would have to record 857 (HD coverage) to watch back on your mini box. Hope that makes sense.

As @Daniel0210 indicates, a main Q box cannot reduce a UHD recording down to HD for playback on a Q Mini: that would require more CPU power than they are equipped with.  During live viewing each box is using a different tuner for reception (even though all the tuners are physically located in the main box) so this isn't an issue: the main box retransmits HD reception from an HD channel to the Mini while displaying its own separate UHD reception from a UHD channel (which is also why the output from the boxes can never be perfectly synchronized)
