Baileys v Sky remote

Baileys won!

Cannot disconnect remote using buttons (7 & 9) as stuck down,  none of the buttons work.

Attempted to connect new remote but can't do that until other disconnected. 

Any ideas folk?

You shouldn't need to unpair the damaged remote. Just pairing the new one should override the functioning of the old one.

7&9 doesn't disconnect the remote. You don't need to do that

 

I read this recently on another thread here.  No idea where this idea that you have to use the old remote to set up a new one came from. How would that ever work with a lost remote?
