Hi there - on 23 Feb channel 1 was turned off and BBC 1 HD South East should be showing both U.K. and local South East programmes in HD.
the national programmes are fine and being broadcast in HD but when the local South East news /weather or other local programmes are broadcas eg Politics today (which was shown at 10am on Sunday 6th March 2023) these are still being broadcast in SD.
Anyone else experiencing this too or know how to resolve so all programmes are broadcast in HD?
thanks

I should add that Channel 101 on Sky Q box is the channel that his the issue.

@DaveSh56 You answered your own question. They are still being broadcast in SD. You'd need to ask the BBC when this will change.

I understood that BBC 1 Southeast was converted from SD to HD on 23 Feb and was the last of the BBC channels to stop Broadcasting in SD.
BBC are still not broadcasting in HD on Freeview 101 and the update on that is that it would be April before they full go to HD on Freeview but all comms I have read indicated Sky would be fully HD by 23 Feb hence my query.

I have noticed similar recently - Channel 115 had been BBC1 Hd and it was only that I realised 115 is now BBC3 - I went to 101 and it says it's in HD but it definitely is not. It's not just local news programmes - it's all the programmes in my experience. When BBC1 was on 116 everything was in HD? Very odd. I hope it gets rectified soon

Thanks Vic - I have since read that BBC won't have completed their migration to showing all programmes on Sky (101) to HD until end March.
Freeview conversion to HD on channel 101 will be end April.
Don't think the messaging has been very clear ie 23 Feb was the date I understood all BBC channels on HD via Sky but now appears we have to wait a little longer.

As GD1 has said, 101 is definitely HD, with the exception of some local programmes. If you're not seeing HD something is wrong.
In some regions including London, North West, South West and North East, the local programmes are HD too.

Since the changeover to HD, the picture on channel 101 is better when showing local programmes, but WORSE when showing the national news. Is anyone else experiencing the same issues ?

If you're in a region where the local news is still upscaled SD, this can affect the picture quality on the national news.
It's a bit dull and long-winded but in summary, the local studio takes control of the feed at certain times to insert the local headlines. This happens at the start of the national news, about half way through during the headline summary, and then at the end of the programme just before the local news starts. You will notice the picture degrade at these times.
The local studio should hand back control after the local inserts, but sometimes don't and this substantialy degrades the picture quality on the national news.
Eventually it will be solved as local studios are upgrded to HD.
