Amber light

Q is fading and lighting up but box won't switch on, amber light remains. Remote batteries are good and remote appears to be working.

Sounds like you Sky Q box has become stuck in standby mode. It happens sometimes.

 

Follow the advice here, namely the recovery mode on step 2
