5 app no longer plays content. Error VJS-2999

Hi

For the last week I can no longer play content on the 5 app on my SkyQ box.

It can play live content, but nothing on demand.

I've tried signing out and back in, updating the sky software, refresh all apps, reboot SkyQ, reboot router, all to no avail.

 

I can sign in to my 5 app on my smart tv and play all content without a problem.

Its only when I use the 5 app on the SkyQ box.

 

Each time it shows me error code VJS-2999 and refuses to play the content.

Thank you very much for looking into this.

I've just checked again, and for some reason it appears to be working now, after well over a week of it failing!

I also messaged 5 regarding this, so perhaps they have done something remotely to fix it.

I hate to say this, but its stopped working again! Same error message.

 

Works fine on the Smart TV app.

Well a full reset of all the skyq box settings made no difference. 

I did manage to get it to play on demand content after many many tries, then I went in again to play something else and I'm back to square one. No on demand content at all can be played including the one that managed to play earlier.

 

I've also got 5 looking into this but it's definitely related to sky q box as the 5 app works fine on my smart tv

My discussions with sky so far have come to no avail.

A full reset of the settings has not worked.

They have suggested an engineer call out but as far as I can see, an engineer won't be able to do anything about this short of factory reset the box or replacing the box altogether. Either way this would mean I get to lose all my recordings and would have to re-login to all my apps again (already done once today)

 

I'm going to wait to see if 5 come back with something.

I think it could be a problem their end, or perhaps with the software version that has been pushed out to SkyQ boxes.

 

I would be interested to see if any more people report this issue on SkyQ/5 App.

I'm having the same problem . Tried to seek help with sky. Had no luck so far. . I have sky glass with same code . Only 5 does not work. All other apps work perfectly fine
