2 months free Sky Cinema after an engineer visit?

Just had an engineer out as our picture had been breaking up in recent weeks. Dish needed realigning and a new LNB. Done in 5 minutes!

As he was leaving he mentioned something about giving me 2 months of Sky Cinema for free, and sure enough I've now had an email to confirm this. Is this something that customers are currently getting after an engineer visit?

What's not clear is whether this will convert to a paid subscription if I don't cancel before the end of the 2 months. Does anyone have experience of this particular "offer" ?

It will most likely convert to a paid subscription if you don't cancel it. Check your account online carefully.

I suspect Sky engineers have been advised to make this "offer" to customers in the hope that many will forget to cancel and Sky end up making a bit of money out of it.

@AndyStephens

Previous posts on here suggest it will revert to payments after the two months if no action is taken. To cancel it (if you don't want to keep it that is) you'll need to contact Sky and give 31 days notice.

Re: 2 months free Sky Cinema after an engineer visit?

I took this on 12/6/25 and was told by the engineer to remember to cancel it in good time if I didn't want to continue.  He also assured me that even after cancellation, I would retain the service for the initial two months.  This didn't happen - after a month I responded to an email from Sky , but, they cancelled it 11/7/25.  I had given a months notice that I would not continue with Cinema after the free period.  So, when TV is full of Sport (I do not like any sport), it would be nice to view a few films, but, I cannot play or download anything from Cinema.  It is impossible to speak to anyone about this - I have been trying.  I just want my month back.

If you cancelled immediately then it will take effect one month later (i.e. half way through the 2 months)

You will need to call them to maybe get them to do something for you but they basically did what you told them to do.

Re: 2 months free Sky Cinema after an engineer visit?

They took my response and cancelled straight away - not a month later at the end of the 2 months as promised.  After multiple calls to Sky, and a lot of frustration, by calling in as a complaint I finally got to speak to someone.  He spent some time consulting his manager, but could do nothing.  I explained my problem after passing security to 3 men who new I needed to go out but were not able to do what I asked.  The only thing they were interested in was to renew my contract for 24 months.  I said as it wasn't due for 2 months I would think about that after the complaint was resolved.  Still, the only way to get to see the films I had downloaded was to renew my contract at a small discount.  Now I am tied in for 2 years.  I really shouldn't have done that as Sky don't do what they promise.

Interesting. When exactly in the 2 months did you cancel? Half way?
