Problems with My Sky and Sky Smart Home apps.

I have downloaded and installe My Sky and Sky Home apps, but they do not appear to work.  Can anyone talk me through what I am doing wrong?  I have bought the Sky Smart Video Doorbell, but cannot use the apps to set it up.  Help!  Iain.

Re: Problems with My Sky and Sky Smart Home apps.

Success! (in a limited way anyhow)

After two more days banging my head against a brick wall, and over an hour talking to a very nice man at SKY, I had decided that I needed to upgrade my iPhone SE 2020 to something more modern, so I went back to the shop in Oswestry (Dog 'n Bone) to discuss the problem.  The assistant tried all the steps I had already done and said it must be someting to do with their website, not my phone.  He whipped out his iPhone 17 (envious stare) and logged into the Sky Home website without any problem.  Hmm! that's odd.  He then delved deep into the settings on my phone and switched OFF Block All Cookies.  Bingo! suddenly the app started working.

I asked him what he had done and the steps are:-

Settings - Apps - Safari - Scroll down to the very bottom and click on Advanced - Turn OFF Block All Cookies.

Now all I have to do is find out which WiFi network the doorbell has attached itself to and go there with my phone.

I'll let you know how that goes!

Regards, Iain.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more

Can you start by reading through and watching the videos here on the setup and install process here;

https://www.sky.com/help/sky-smart-home-nav/sky-smart-home-doorbell-and-chime-nav/sky-smart-home-doo...

Then go through for the actual setup in the Sky Smart Home app, clicking on the doorbell, that will first start with setting up the Chime and then will move onto syncing the doorbell to the Chime.

Go through that journey and let us know at what stage you get stuck

Re: Problems with My Sky and Sky Smart Home apps.

Thanks for your reply, sorry it went to my Spam folder and i only found it this morning.

I have downloaded and installed the App, but when I run it, all I get is a blank page with a few internal links at the bottom, no buttons or text is visible.  I have asked various other sources and have been told that, despite the adverts saying it will run on any iOS greater than 16, it also won't run on any iPhone older than iPhone 16, although they do not state this in the literature.  My iPhone is an iPhone SE 2020, running iOS 26.5, so it looks like I have fallen at the first hurdle.  I also tried downloading it on my Samsung Galaxy A11 tablet, but that didn't work either.  Looks like either I will have to upgrade to an iPhone 16 or 17, or else I have wasted £15 and two days of banging my head against a brick wall.  Thanks SKY!  I tried to find a phone number for SKY's Customer Service, but the only number I can find is an 0900 number, which a). costs £6 peer minute and b). is blocked by my telephony provider (EE) unless I pay them extra to unblock it.

Re: Problems with My Sky and Sky Smart Home apps.

Finally! I rebooted the doorbell whilst it was placed immediately beside my router, and it paired with my own WiFi as that had a stronger signal than my neighbours.  It's all up and running now, but there is often several seconds delay between pressing the button and the chime responding.  I have not had any visitors yet so I don't know if this will improve if it detects someone approaching before they press the button, hopefully I'll find out tomorrow when the postman comes.

Regards, Iain.
