sky mobile ireland roaming no data
Now I am going to say it like it is, as I don't have the email address for Helen in ROI complaints, it's on my laptop at home. We're in Maastricht for the weekend, and it's a damn good job we have wifi in the hotel, as there's ZERO data here. This was reported 6 WEEKS ago, we were here then, and reported it when we returned home and clearly Sky tech are CLUELESS. My only option now is live with pain all weekend until we get home, and to cancel both mobiles, and move my broadband and landline to a company that CAN deliver, Sky clearly cannot, and I've got the screen captures that tell me I've no data.
How to spoil a special weekend, and I've done everything I could to get the issues solved, and this is not the only hassle we've had, for weeks, literally, our family in the UK on Sky could not call our landlines or mobiles, total disaster for us. Enough is enough!

Not had chance yet to engage with support, but the bottom line was that with my Sky Ireland sim in the phone, I had perfect mobile signal including data from Brussels right up to the point where I got a text message to welcome me to the Netherlands. At that point, I lost data, and only got it back by going out on Saturday morning, and buying a PAYG sim for a Dutch service, which worked perfectly until we got home in Ashbourne, where I could power down the phone to swap the sim back to the Sky sim., which at least proved that the issue was not with the phone.
I didn't have a suitable sim removal tool with me in the bag, I won't make that mistake again, but I'm not sure I want to risk staying with Sky, as they clearly don't have the resources to fix issues like this, it was reported 2 MONTHS ago, so I was not amused to discover the hard way that they'd not got it resolved, to say I was not impressed would be a huge understatement, this was meant to be a special weekend, and the phone was a critical part of the planning, to be able to get things like Google translations, among other things, and to be able to look up things like public transport routes and timetables. No data outside the hotel WiFi coverage was NOT helpful!
