We would need more info. What makes you think you've been scammed? Where did you find the number you used to call Sky?

Re: scammed

hi this is a short version. i had a call saying as a loyal custumer i was getting a discount and a free gift of a ipad from sky. and i would get a follow up call in half hr to confirm. i got the follow up call and they told me they had sent out some emails to me but not for me and just deleat them. the next day i got a package delivered by dpd but it was a iphone 2 mins later i got a call from the person from the day before saying they had sent out the wrong package and they would sort out for return but i opened the emails from the day before and it was a contract in my name for the iphone and on my sky my mobile bill has gone up from £10 to £55.95 i was told this would be corrected with in 24hrs. the post lady came the next day with a 24hr tracking and a return address in bolton i rang the number that had rang me and confirmed it was right and was told yes now my bill hasent changed after 48 hrs the first number to ring me with the promotion the second numb was a manchester number is and the second a london  number and is now not answering to me then i rang a number this morning to report this   i got it from the internet and (removed) that person took a report and told me not to contact sky again but to wait for a call back and they could not adjust my bill so that is where i stand right now i would be gratefull for any help

thanks john

If you included a phone number or email address etc the automatic filters will have gobbled up your post.

Re: scammed

ok i will do it again, in short i got a phone call from a manchester number saying as a valued sky customer i was getting a dicount on  my package and a free gift of a ipad and would get a follow up call in a half hr . i got the call it was a london number   but he said he had sent some emails to me that was not for me and to just delete them and a package was being sent out to me delivered by dpd. next day i got the package but it was a iphone 2mins later i got a call from the london number saying the wrong package was sent out i asked about the emails because i didnt delete them i read them. contracts in my name for a iphone  and sky had increased my mobile bill from £10 to £55 i was told the bill would be corrected in 24hrs and a return slip sent out, the next day thursday my post lady came with a return slip with a adresse in bolton i rang the number in london and confirmed it was right and the post lady took it away, now ive checked my billing and its still £55.95 now the london number wont answer so i got a number from the internet this morning  i reported the matter and was told they cant adjust the bill yet but cancel my debit and not to contact sky again they will contact me so any help i would be so greatfull

thank you

Hi @john+530gt  yes you have been scammed. Call sky on 150 from your sky sim to report this. Also change your Sky account password if you haven't already. Be prepared for Sky to carry out a lengthy investigation and you may have to pay until it's sorted out otherwise you will default on your account.

@john+530gt

This is an increasingly common scam I'm afraid. The scammers order a device using your details then tell you the wrong device has been dispatched/delivered. They tell you to return it to an address (which won't be to Sky) or they'll send a bogus courier to collect it. You would then continue to be billed for the device.

You shoukd never contact a company via a number 'found on the internet' but search on the company's own website.

If you still need to call Sky then from a Sky Talk landline or a Sky mobile dial 150 to call Sky (free).

Alternatively use this link:
https://www.sky.com/help/home
UK customers: Scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ and a 0333 number is displayed.
ROI customers: change the flag in the bottom right corner of the link to the ROI flag then scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ and it provides a dedicated 0818 ROI number.
(The forum doesn’t allow us to type the numbers in full).

Similar to calling other large companies the start will be automated which may also try to send you here to the forum. Stay on the line as long as possible and don’t hang up. If necessary say nothing when the automated system asks you what your call is about as it should then route your call into a queue for the next available agent.

If the contact details originally provided by the scammers are used for confirmation then of course they are going to say the return instructions are correct: unfortunately that's inherent to the design of the scam itself.

As noted above, when suspecting any such thing it's vital to look up publicly advertised points of contact rather than using those previously communicated.
