phone dats and calls not working with roaming switched on

Im in spain on holiday. Ive switched roaming on but when I try to use date or make a call it says not connected

Although you don't have to do you have a spend cap set because if you do it needs to be high enough to cover your stay.

That apart have you tried searching for other networks to see if your device will connect and then work ?

Also if your phone is an IOS one try changing the automatic network selection to manual network selection as this will allow you to search for available networks and to connect to one that works for you. You should be able to search for all available networks on an Andriod device as well.

Also make sure this setting is set to Abroad:

Apple:
Settings > Mobile Service > SIM Applications > Make sure this is set to Abroad..

Android:
Sky Menu App or SIM toolkit > Roaming > Make sure this is set to Abroad.

i dont have a spend cap and Ive tried the settings. I cant even call sky to get help coz it wont let me make calls.

There is social media you can use like WhatsApp and the other sites shown at the bottom of this page.
