Hi, my son has an iPad mini which has a SIM card so he can use it when we go on car journeys etc. We have iPhones so can FaceTime him. The SIM card in the iPad has a telephone number attached to it but he can't receive texts or phone calls to it. It's a 100mb sim and we just roll our extra data over to that to save money.
Our friend is selling a cellular Apple Watch for cheap and we were thinking of buying it for him so can keep in contact when he's out playing (don't trust him to not lose or break a phone!)
Would the number on the SIM card in the iPad be able to be used as an eSIM with the watch, or would we need to get a new number/contract for that? How would effect the email address linked with the number on his iPad as it's all linked to his Apple ID?
