iMessage verifying
I moved from another provider to Sky due to contract ending. Since moving to Sky (e-sim) my iMessage constantly says verifying.... next to my mobile number and never actually verifies, it's been on this for 3 days now.
things I've tried;
- disabling iMessage and FaceTime, turning off WiFi, rebooting mobile and enabling iMessage again.
- resetting network settings.
- resetting settings.
- disabled eSIM and enabled again.
no luck! Any help before I call, please? I tried before and was transferred 4 times and gave up the will to verify myself and explain the issue for a 5th time.

Re: iMessage verifying
Hi @SarahW92 if you have tried all of this then all I can suggest is getting a new physical sim from sky and deleting the esim, once the physical sim is activated and iMessage verified then convert to esim if you want to. Call sky on 150 to request the replacement physical sim.

Re: iMessage verifying
Not sure if you have tried this:
- In Settings, ensure your phone number is showing up in the phone screen under my number
- In Settings > Messages > Send & Receive, untick your number
- In Settings > Facetime, untick your number
- In Settings > Messages, turn off iMessage
- In Settings > Facetime, turn off facetime
- Restart the phone
- In Settings > Messages, turn on iMessage
- In settings > Messages > Send & Receive, tick your number
- In Settings > Facetime, turn on Facetime and then tick your number
IMessage and Facetime should show waiting for activation. You should then get it activated after a few minutes.
Something else to try:
1. On a browser log in to your icloud account. https://www.icloud.com/
2. Top right click on the account/person icon and select Manage Apple ID
3. This may ask for code to log in or your apple id and password.
4. You should see a screen headed Sign in and Security. Click on email and phone numbers.
5. If your phone number is completely missing try adding it. It might initially say it is not available for imessage and facetime but after a minute or two this message might clear and your phone should now be verified for both imessage and facetime.

Re: iMessage verifying
I did try the first option prior but not the iCloud options. Followed this and my number wasn't listed only my email so added number and followed #1 scenario again and same issue, in iMessage settings my email is ticked but my phone number just says verifying.... and circling indefinately. Back to the drawing board, thank you though as it was worth a shout.

Re: iMessage verifying
May end up being the only alternative, want to use that as a last resort though. Hoping Sky can do something in the meantime but it's just like pass the problem in the team 😂

Re: iMessage verifying
You would be better served contacting Apple about this as the imessage not activating isn't a Sky issue. I'm fairly sure you will not be the first person to contact Apple about this so hopefully they know of a solution.
