eSIM stopped working while abroad

Hi all.
I am using a Sky Mobile (Ireland) eSIM on my iPhone 16.
I am currently in Japan and my eSIM stopped working around 2 weeks ago and is still not working.
I tried to re-install the eSIM but it does not activate.
I cannot request a replacement eSIM as the verification process attempts to send a verification code to the broken eSIM (I have no other Sky Mobile numbers to send the code to).
Last week I got in touch with Sky over WhatsApp and they were to try call me within 48hrs on another phone to try and resolve my problem. I didn't get any call from them.
Would anyone have any advice for me to try resolve this? I don't return home for 2 more weeks and already missing my phone number for 2 weeks has been difficult.
Thanks in advance for any help.

AIUI Japan is no longer supported for roaming.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

Re: eSIM stopped working while abroad

Thanks for your reply.

You prompted me to check the Tariff Guide, and I see now that Japan is no-longer there.

The Tariff Guide was updated 20-Feb-2026, which coincides with around when my eSIM stopped working.

I don't understand why 3+ agents on the WhatsApp chat didn't tell me that Japan was simply no longer supported.

Unfortunately this means I will need to change provider.

Thank you again and have a nice day.
