eSIM affecting my Visa Secure?

I unsuccessfully tried to set up Visa Secure with my bank who assured me that checks showed no 

faults their end and their tech team could only think that my recent change to an eSIM may be th cause.

A general Google search doesnt suggest this is a common occurrence. Is it plausible or have I been fobbed off?

@Friars+1980  It's more likely you've been fobbed off as I don't believe Visa Secure knows what sim type you use when setting it up.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.
