eSIM - No Data, Sky Ireland

Hi all, looking for some help. 

I've been with Sky Mobile Ireland since launch on a physical sim. I wanted an eSIM so switched today and it's been a nightmare. 

eSIM activated fine but the data has not been working. It keeps showing 5g or 4g in the top right and then disappearing and only showing bars, then next second it's back. (iOS). Or it's showing 5G but no connection.  The data network is never properly activating. It's randomly worked for an hour. 

Calls and texts do work. 

 

I've been on the phone with support for hours doing everything from new eSIMs, to resetting all iOS settings (which removed years worth of preferences and bank cards), downloading profiles etc. Agent said their system wasn't responding so would call me back tomorrow. Then said they'd call me back in 10 minutes. No call back. 

I'm totally lost, especially since it worked for a random short period, multiple eSims and that other physical and eSIMs do work with the phone. Hopefully someone can help guide me.

I came here to check on any comments and saw yours, I haven't recieved any request though.

 

I did manage to get my eSIM working.

 

I yet again changed my eSIM but this time instead of using the link to the network settings profile download that I get in a text message, I went to the iOS Help Page for Sky: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/ios-help

 

This time it worked properly.

 

I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max, and Sky has issues with iOS 18.2 with all Iphone 13 Model Variations and network data, so I'd say this was linked.

 

Hopefully this is useful for anyone in the future with the same problem. However Tom, you might want to check the right profile links are being sent in text messages, as there was obviously something different/better about the one I got form your iOS help page.

For anyone experiencing this 4/5G random flashing it's a APN issue... it handshakes and pulls away as the parameters are wrong, just go to sim settings & change the APN to mobile.sky or internet.Tele2.se 

 

sky staff say try 4G.tele2.se and that has the same flashing data result.

Good to know! I had my settings on mobile.sky when it wasn't working and it was still flashing. Good to know about the 'internet.Tele2.se' option if this happens again.
