i have ordered a phone and paid a upfront cost, however i've had no confirmation on my order.

It can take a day or two sometimes. After the two credit checks are complete (it may take longer at a weekend) the most up to date information on your particular order should become available at
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/track-sky-order
We have no insider knowledge regarding stock levels or delivery timescales. When your order is ready you should get an email from Sky, and then another from DPD which will have details of your 1 hour delivery time slot.
