I've had same issue, Apple very helpful and had them on video call for half an hour unable to work out how to make it work. There only suggestion was to keep on trying!

Hi, have you managed to resolve the issue as I have had the exact same issue as everyone else with my 17 air. Very frustrating. Can't set it up

I had the same issue - in the end I turned of the 5GHZ network in the sky app, and that seems to have done the trick.

Just turn off the 5GHZ toggle you can see here 🙂

That literally disabled my WiFi and I could do anything. I will have to contact Sky or Apple

This is so frustrating how the hell is this meant to work I have never had any trouble with iphones yet got 2 iPhone 17's and still nothing. Changed wifi reset a million times etc. You watch it will be a bug that will only go fixed when America awakes!

I have just tried stopping mobile data, swapping from Wi-Fi to hotspot from a non-Sky phone and it still didn't work

I've had the same problem with a 17 Pro, but after setting up the phone with no data transfer or iCloud login, I turned the wifi off (so not using my Sky router, just the 5G signal) and it connected straight away. So must be linked to Sky broadband.

Same issue here and seeing reports of same issue across multiple providers. Have tried WiFi and hotspotting as that was suggested somewhere, no luck at all

Having the same problem!! Tried everything but keep getting verification failed. Very annoying as already transferred over esim so now have to use both phones

Same for me. Rang Apple and they suggested using a different WiFi... tried a different WiFi/hotspot and problem remains.  Rang Apple again they suggested downloading the latest iOS26 on my old phone then trying to connect via hotspot. Fingers crossed this works!
