Usage charge

I received my new sim yesterday and have put it in my phone and registered it to activate it, unfortunately it has not been completed yet and I have not gotten my text yet to confirm. This is not the issue though, my bill is now in and saying there's an additional charge for "usage" this is an unlimited plan so I am very confused why there is this charge when I haven't been able to use the phone number as of yet. I am only able to use internet items via WiFi. Does anybody know what the additional charge is for? Any help would be most appreciated.

For both issues @Rikki3 you will be best of using another device to speak to Sky especially about this usage charge.
