I'm hoping someone can help me. I upgraded my iPhone from iPhone 13 to iPhone 16 Pro Max. I got a new sim and activated it tonight but never received a text telling me that it was activated.
i erased all the data on my old phone and took the old sim out of it. I can make calls but can't receive them or texts. Can someone please help?

I thought I had to activate the new sim as it was a different data plan. When activating it, I chose 'activate replacement sim' is that wrong g

Find out moreActivating as replacement will just replace the old one and keep the old plan @Davidwright87 If you have done that then the old sim is probably now deactivated. You may just have to give it a little time for the new sim to activate fully. Try turning off you handset for 15-20 minutes.

Find out moreYou might already be aware of this but your number from the over sim you have will not be transferred to this new sim so if you want to keep the number you have then you need to keep using the sim you have in your new phone and calls Sky to cancel this new one.

While it isn't wrong, you don't actually need to do this as you can just keep using the sim you have got in your iphone 13 with your new phone althoigh if this other sim does activate you will have to use that instead.

Thanks all. I'm receiving some phone calls today but I'm not getting some sms, it's so strange. I've checked my sky account and it's still asking me to activate the sim. It's showing two phones and two data plans (sims). Can anyone help me please?

Best to call Sky on 150. We're other customers here...
You ordered a new data plan so it will be requesting activation (but will drop off after a month).
It's taking around 2-3 weeks to process returns - the phone won't 'drop off' until processed.
