Tried to transfer old number & failed. OAP needs help

I joined Sky with a new sim.

Activated SIM and went to change to my old number.

I made the request.

Waited

Then inserted the old sim.

I was sent a activation code.

Message said there was an error.

Tried at least 3 times on BH Monday.

It hasn't changed.

As my number is attached to many items, I cannot use the new number.

I need detailed guide on getting my number changed

Or help in cancelling Sky if they won't do it

@Pat115

Has your Sky sim activated so is this working ?

Is your number that you want to transfer to Sky currently with a different network ?

When did you give Sky the pac code you got from your other network as you need to do this to move the number from them to Sky as per this:

https://www.sky.com/help/articles/switching-to-sky-mobile-keep-your-number

Activate the sim when it arrives but do not put it in your phone, so keep your current sim in it.

Get pac code from your current supplier

Give Pac code to Sky

When your current sim stops working insert your Sky sim in the phone.

I did activate the sim

I have a PAYG number for years & no PAC.

The transfer did not ask for a PAC

You do need a PAC code if if the network is a PAYG one as this is how the number is transfered, so the way to do this is to put that PAYG sim back into your phone then sent the text message (as per what it says on the link I posted above for you) to get the PAC code then you need to give it to Sky.

You can give Sky your pac code online here:

https://www.sky.com/myaccount/mobile/sim/x/my-number/transfer

OK, this is the key bit:

  1. Text PAC to 65075 using your old SIM, not your Sky SIM.
  2. Order your new Sky Mobile SIM.
  3. Activate your Sky SIM online.
  4. Let us know your PAC switching code and the number you want to keep.

Thanks again.

But attempting to send to 65075 with the message PAC is not working.

I sent a test message to another person & message system is working

In that case @Pat115 with their sim in your phone call that network to ask them for the Pac code.

Have you now got the Pac code from your other network as it is them you need to call to get it. If you have got it then with the Sky sim in your phone you can call Sky by using the 150 (just that) number and say nothing when asked any questions by the bot.

Sometimes you need to text PAC + your birthdate to that number so eg: PAC01/01/2010

Virginia.
I don’t work for Sky.
If I have helped then please leave a like.
