Travelling abroad for one month……

I'm travelling to Thailand for one month and want to use my phone data etc - is there any package etc that can ensure I don't get a ridiculous bill when I return home? It seems unfair to be charged at roaming for call and messages and data

I'm afraid not other than using a local sim whilst you are out there.

Why would it be 'unfair' to be charged somewhat differently when nine thousand miles away from a UK network?

The £2 payment to access a domestic data bundle applies within the EU & EEA, overseas territories of those countries, and half a dozen others (primarily USA/Canada, Australia/New Zealand and South Africa where Sky has commercial arrangements with national network providers)

For reference:  (Currently)

36p per MEG of data (Not GIG)

72p per minute for making calls

14p per minute receiving calls

14p per SMS

Remember these costs are charged by the local networks...

Actually this is a lot lower than many 'Rest of World' countries which can be more than 10x the above.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

Only £360 per gigabyte: a bargain compared to the £2,000+ of other locations; )
