Transferring Sim to son

I have an account with Sky mobile and have multiple sims so that the kids phones are under my account.

now my son is 18 he wants to take his own contract on.

Do you think I can simply transfer his SIM account to his Sky account?

No.  Sky do not offer this option.

The only way is to transfer the number out of the network and then back to his (new) account.  (Assuming he wants to keep his phone number)

Ok, thank you

so he would need to take out a sim contract then transfer his number?

Yes.

But that transfer cannot be from Sky to Sky.  (You cannot use a PAC code within a network)

The number has to be transferred out to a different provider and then back to the new SIM.

Also, he won't be able to share your piggybank.  He will have his own.

That seems counter productive to have to leave a network.

Thanks for your replies

Agreed... But that's the only workaround.
