This persons voicemail is switched off

I switched voicemail off when I joined sky Mobile as I haver never used voicemail, the issue I have is that when someone tries to call me, if I have no reception, or I am on a call, or just dont answer, the caller gets a message saying "this persons voicemail is turned off". My elderly father has a basic pay as you go sim so it uses his credit every time he calls me. How can I turn off this Voicemail is turned off message?

A good old fashioned engaged tone is all that is required

This is weird as all other networks allow u to switch off voicemail compeletely ao the caller is not charged. Why would sky not allow that?

It isn't really weird just because other network do it doesn't mean Sky has to. You can set it do people can't leave you a voicemail but it can not be turned off completely.
