Discussion topic: Texts to my new number going to someone else

I've recently found out that people have tried to text me but have had replies saying they have the wrong number. We have checked and found that they did have the correct number but messages were going to someone else. My husband tried to message and got a reply from the mystery phone. We found they don't have the same number, or my old number and don't share anything else we can think of e.g. apple ID. Any ideas what is happening and how we can fix it would be greatly appreciated.

I would report this to Sky so their team can look into it for you, 150 is the free number to use to call them on.
