Text photos

I have an iPhone 11 and sim on contract.

My current bill includes a substantial extra charge for sending photos by text. I have never noticed this before.

I understand they can be chargeable in some cases but as I have never been charged before I wonder if I might have changed something when messing about in settings. This apples to normal sms or mms texts to non apple phones.

Is there anything I can do about this?

Thanks.

Use something like Whatsapp or facebook messenger or if sending them to another iphone user then you could use imessage.

Re: Text photos

Thanks Ceasarome..

That seems to be the only solution but being a simple soul I really do not want yet more apps and stuff to manage.

My current solution is to email the photos when I can and pay the charges when I need to text, I was just hoping that I was missing something simple.

Ah well...

Re: Text photos

I am wondering if this is something new this month. I have a contract and had to pay £54 EXTRA and I found out I had been charged for sending pictures in my texts but I have never been before? My dad payed my contract off and I have officially left as of today.... something was definitely up after one and a half years then to be billed for photos.... Yet when I was debating this on the phone they did not tell me why all of a sudden?

It's what your device is doing that's key.

If your device sends as MMS you'll be charged.  Check what your new provider charges for them too...  personally I've disabled MMS on my device.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers
