Swapping device reservations

I an looking into swapping my device for a new one however i have some reservations! Once i send my current device back, do i get refunded the full amount of the device or do they revalue the device when they receive it? I dont want to go through with it then wind up having hundreds added fo my new device plan? Has anyone actually done this swap and if so how do they work out the value of your current / old device?

When you start the swap you get an estimated value of your device.

 

Only upon inspection are you offered a final amount.  You do not have to accept it and the device can be returned.  I recommend taking good photo's of the device before sending it.

 

If the valuation is lower than the remaining credit you have on it then the whole difference is added to your next bill.  (In rare cases you may have a credit applied if it's worth more)
