So I got my 12 year old daughter a phone. It is a contract registered to my name. My daughter keeps receiving phone calls and messages for someone called Paige who lives in Bristol (she received a message from a GP regarding a telephone appointment and it had the practice name on the message, so I googled the practice which is how I know Paige is from Bristol). She (my daughter) can't make an Amazon account with her phone number either, as again, someone called Paige is using the mobile number. Is there anything I can do to stop this from happening? I thought mobile numbers were unique to SIM cards, is it possible someone else has the same number? Would it be easier to change my daughters phone number?
