Why is it taking so long for my sim to activate, also trying to transfer a number, I appreciate the transfer could take a couple of days but sim activation says it takes a few minutes?

As you say it should almost instantly that is activates but there have been reported cases on here previously where it takes longer so I would leave it for 24 hours and if it still hasn't activated then if you can call Sky for help, otherwise contact them via social media as there are links to their sites at the bottom of this page.
