Sky mobile - good?

Looking to take a contract for phone out for my daughter, having seen a lot of negative comments on the forums, are Sky reliable as other networks?!

@richieboy69

People tend to initially go on to any forum because they are having a problem. I have had Sky Mobile since 2018 and personally I can say myself, my wife and our son haven't had any problems.

I found Sky to be poor for reception in our area with 0 internet indoors & slow speed although calls & texts were fine, I reported it several times but as there were no outages & everything was up to date nothing seemed to change. I moved to Smarty & get a signal everywhere incl the places I couldn't before, I also get broadband speeds which is making me think of dropping our BB provider in favour of tethering.
I'd suggest checking the coverage not just with Sky but other providers for your area & the places you visit to see which have the best.

@richieboy69 Although I've recently left Sky Mobile due to price increases, I never had an issue with connectivity during many years with them. Always had a working signal for both calls and data. No EU roaming though.

The Sky service round my way wasn't too bad but data speeds were anround the 10 Mbps but sice O2 replaced the old 3G/4G base station wth a 5G one the signal has improved and getting data speeds around 250 Mbps. The only issue I have as a long term customer is the price so I'm going to switch providers when I upgrade my phone in May.

We have 4G here with Sky but speed was slow. It was while we were out in town that I had low or zero speed: no problem with current provider & getting faster 4G speed at home & 5G BB speeds in the same town as we had zero with Sky.
