Sky mobile data issues

I changed from Vodafone to Sky mobile about 3 months ago. I changed the sim and unlocked the phone. I never had any issue with Vodafone, just thought they were too expensive.

 

Since I've moved to Sky Mobile I have a ongoing issue. If I am out and about with no WiFi and I make a phonecall, it cuts off my mobile data while I'm on the phone. When I end the phonecall the data symbol re-appears but I have no connection. The only way to get the data back working is to switch the airplane mode on/off.

 

This is proving a big issue as I am mostly unaware I have no mobile data connection as it is showing it has but I know I have none when I try use internet/apps. I am missing out on important WhatsApp messages as part of my job. I also am having issue with people trying to phone me where it won't ring sometimes and I don't get a text notification of a missed call until 30 minutes later.

 

I never had this issue until I switched networks so it is not an issue with my phone. I have tried accessing help online but the virtual assistant is not recognising the problem and won't put me through to a human customer service advisor so I am writing here hoping somebody from Sky can please get in touch to solve this problem or I will have to leave the network.

Hi @Kev_Bt  this has come up on here before, no real solution from sky. Customers used to be escalated from here for help but that's not currently available. Try calling sky on 150 with a "technical issue " when asked and see if they can help. Report back here if you get any help or not to see if there is anything anyone else can suggest.

Im with Sky mobile for over a year now & I've noticed the same thing - I had no issue in the beginning & I was with Vodafone before this. When Im on a call Im unable to connect to my mobile data, so unable to bring up emails or go to online banking when Im on a call but the minute Im finished my call Im able to get back online.

 

I rang sky the other day & they said its an issue with my mobile phone - I have a Samsing Galaxy S10 & they said that my phone doesnt support Voltec which would allow me to be on a call & connect to mobile data at the same time.  They got me to go to settings - connections- mobile networks - to have a look does Voltec come up. If it doesnt my phone doesnt support this. I have the same issue when Im on sky at home on wi-fi. They said they are aware of this issue & looking into getting it fixed but couldnt tell me. I goggled Voltec & its something I think with 3g been turned off but I could be wrong as this is all over my head.
