Sky Mobile Ireland

Im in Ireland and finally it looks like sky mobile is coming because an agent recently asked me would i like to be notified. My question is does anybody have more information and will it be the same as england. As an example sometimes i buy the new iphone from Apple and otjer times i buy from a carrier like Virgin and the phone migjt be half the price €700 and €60 a month for 24 months. Do sky do this with the newest iphones pro max in england. When the 16 pro max is relesed will sky mobile in england have it available on contract for instance. Thsnks

iPhone 15 Pro Max 256GB = £48 upfront and £59 pm for 12 months then £41.75 for last 12 months.  (TAP £1,257)

Sky will have the latest iPhone's but they won't be 'half price'...  the TAP is generally above Apple's retail price.

Re: Sky Mobile Ireland

Oh so they sell them at normal price. Does this mean they sell as unlocked to all networks and no contract with Sky? Because if your paying the same it wouldn't make sense to enter a contract when you can buy directly. I thought they might do like other carriers try to lure you in with phone cheaper but a monthly bill and contract

The hardware is unlocked: the finance contract and the data bundle (if any) is with Sky.

At least 'normal' price - perhaps a little more...  But they are unlocked.

I'm not sure what other carriers offer but Sky's plan is a HP where you're actually purchasing the phone if you pay for long enough (with an option to 'swap' and start a new plan).

Typically people take a monthly repayment contract because they don't have £1200 to £1500 cash available for the latest shiny pocket toy, but can budget £30 to £60 a month.

Re: Sky Mobile Ireland

This is my question I wanted to know can I take the phone on a contract and pay for it over 2 years instead off paying Apple 1500 up front

You do have an option of different contract lengths but usually the shorter the more you will pay as the overall cost will remain the same but you are paying it over a shorter period.

Yes, it's called 'Swap12'.   (Assuming Ireland will operate in the same manner)

Re: Sky Mobile Ireland

That's perfect it's what I'm trying to find out , I bought my 14 pro max from Apple for nearly 1500 but before that I had the 13 pro max with Vodafone at 60 a month and 700 upfront fee instead off the 1500. I'm just wondering can I get the newest phone on a contract without paying an upfront fee?

Possibly.  It may depend on your credit rating - they may offer a no upfront deal (or may require some initial payment).

Re: Sky Mobile Ireland

I don't mind an upfront fee but I'm guessing it's a lot less than 1500 if you go into a 24 month contract with Sky

Re: Sky Mobile Ireland

Perfect thanks that explains it perfectly in England so hopefully will be the same here. Thanks , although I did notice it's only recently the 15 pro max is available on Sky so 8 months after it's release but atleast the option is there. Thanks, I'll and up sticking to just buy from Apple rather than waiting a year for it when the new one is close to being launched. Thanks again 👍
