Sim install new device

Hey, i got a new phone and tried to install my sky sim into the phone. It's a Google pixel 8, ive received a text saying "the terminal cannot be configured remotely, please contact customer support". 

 

Are you able to help with this ? As to why I am getting this error message.

No, it's a gift from one of my friends. So I'm unsure, where they got it from.

There is a chance it could be locked to a different network so if this is the case it will need unlocking before you can use the Sky sim in it.

I have the same issue, my phone is unlocked. Did you manage to sort it?

I have exactly the same problem and message on my phone, a nokia 225 4g, it has worked with Vodafone and also lyca, but not with my new sky sim, it is unlocked and my elderly relative has got familiar with using it, do you think tech ical help at sky could reconfigure the network setting to get it working? TIA.
