Serbia

Hi, Im travelling to Serbia tomorrow and am getting conflicting answers to this question. When I go, does the £2 roaming passport kick in when I use my phone like it does when Im in Spain or Greece?

@Thehoneythief

You can always check any detaintion yourself here:

https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-mobile-roaming-destinations-and-charges

As you will see Serbia is a Res of the World" country meaning you will be charged for what you use to you can wrack up a large bill as this is what you are looking at:

£2,160 per GB (yes this is correct)

£2.16 per minute Calls to local or UK mobile and landline numbers

£1.80 per minute to receive calls

£0.50 per text message to UK numbers and mobiles

£0.58 per picture message(MMS)

So either use Wifi only or get and use a local sim. To avoid such charges make sure mobile data and roaming is turned off before you leave the UK.

Re: Serbia

Thanks for the reply. Two Sky mobile customer service agents have told me differently, over the phone, one 5 minutes before I posted on here. He said the online information is not always upto date. Im more confused and stressed than I should be.

As far as we know the online information is up to date as nobody has ever posted anything on here to say that it isn't.

@Thehoneythief

£2 roaming mostly applies to EU/EEA nations, and Serbia is not a member of those groups: it's been an EU candidate country since 2012, but complex history and current politics create issues.

@Thehoneythief The Mobile Tariff Guide should always be your source of truth.  This reflects the price to roam in all destinations:

https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-mobile-tariff-guide

As it stands Serbia is not currently a Roaming Passport Plus destination therefore Rest of the World roaming charges apply, as detailed in the Tariff Guide.  If this was to change, the Tariff Guide would be updated to reflect this, and the Welcome SMS you receive when arriving in Serbia would give you the same information.

Thanks for highlighting the incorrect information you've been given, we'll pick this up.
