Scam?

I assume the email I just received from help at skycustomersupport.com informing me there is a problem with my esim (there isn't btw) is a scam.

The email doesn't reference my name, the number concerned and quotes an account number nowhere near my one.

Thanks

@SkiJumper

From what you have said it sounds like it could be a scam, the fact that it doesn't address you by your actual name is usually one what you can spot such email along with that from email address.

Out of interest what does it want you to do ?

@SkiJumper  Does it ask you to click a link?  If so likely a scam.

On the other hand if there is no link and the account number isn't yours it possible someone has mistyped their email address on their account.

Either way ignore the email.

@caesarome @GD1

Hi

We’ve identified that you may be experiencing some issues with your eSIM, which could affect some of its functionality. If this sounds familiar, please order a replacement eSIM online to restore full service.

Just follow these simple steps For Sky  Sign in to your account at links to sky

1. Go to My Sky > Product Settings > Mobile
2. Go to Manage SIM for eSim Profile
3. Select SIM options > Replace my eSIM and follow the on-screen verification step.

For My Sky app Sign in to your account on the MySky App
1. Go to Mobile
2. Under Your SIMs, go to Manage SIM for eSim Profile
3. Select SIM options > Replace my eSIM and follow the on-screen verification step.

@SkiJumper

That does actually read like an email from Sky. If it is working then personally I would leave things as they are.

Re: Scam?

@caesarome It certainly does, but what red flagged me was the email began with just Hi, every other email from SKY has always started with Hello and my name, plus the quoted account was like nothing I even recognise.

Also this was the logo/avatar on the email which I've never seen before IMG_1828.png

It is an odd one as I presume there was no links in the email so if it was from a scammer what are they trying to get out of sending these ?

@Samraj

It would probably be helpful if this sort of thing didn't originate from previously unknown domains*, particularly after we've spent years telling forum posters that Sky Support doesn't use email.

* and that one looks especially scammy, even though I note it was first registered twenty years ago ; )

Re: Scam?

@Samraj many thanks for looking in to this, I was just a bit concerned as my name was not used, the phone number wasn't quoted and the SKY mobile account number given was nothing like the one I have, plus I haven't experienced ANY problems with the eSim so it all seemed a bit suspicious if I'm being honest.
