Sales agent ordered iphone 16 for me without my authorisation

I just got an emailto say thanks for your order for iphone 16 which willarrive tomorrow,, and he toldme to ignore the emails as they are hust for testing,,how dare he order a phone without my consent ,i just had an email saying am gonna over a thousand pounds on a 30quid a month payment plan???!!! Cant even get hold of customer services

That sounds very suspiciously like you're partway through a scam: the next step will be to tell you it's all a mistake and you need to send the phone on to a different address.

Do not do this!

You'll need to call Sky (but not using any number the original caller gave you) to discuss what's really going on.

One hallmark of this particular criminal enterprise is it starts off as an offer of a '40% discount'.

I rang sky up,, they put me in a queue, been holding for over 1 hour 15 minutes then cut me off.. will have to ring again tmrw,, such a nightmare

It's not clear who you are responding to but if someone called you saying they were Sky and you gave them the details they needed to access your account then it seems almost certain this is the first phase of the phone theft scam.

DO NOT talk to anyone who calls you about this.  As above, they will attempt to get you to return the phone but it won't be going back to Sky and the net result is that the scammers have the phone and you'll be paying for it.

Only call Sky yourself on the official numbers.

oh, and change your account password.
