SKY MOBILE ARE SCAMMING ME

I am NOT a Sky Mobile User but have had 3 sky phones delivered to my door and then received demands for money from sky mobile - to a name that doesnt exist. This is part of a well known scam whereby a scammer starts a fake account using a real address - in this case my sons phone number my address, a 'version' of our name and a fake email they can access. They order the phones then when they are due to arrive contact the phopne number and claim the phones were ordered by mistake and are to be picked up - promising an ipad for our help. We know of this scam and my sone came down to the house. When the phones were delivered the scammers phoned him - they had seen via email that they were delivered -and that a chap was coming. We told them they were scammers and to swivel! When the chap arrived i photographed him and he fled. Subsequently and since August I have been trying to contact SKY to make them aware, return the phones, cancel the accounts and provide info to get the scammers. THEY DO NOT WANT KNOW!!! I haver hads numerous long (tedious) conversations each time starting again, I am NOT a Sky mobile user - then they hang up on me (twice), say they will get the 'fraud' dept to phone us (once), tell us they will phone bk at a time convenient to us (3 times) and never do! I can only deduce thaty they are uninterested in our help but will attempt to extort money from us under threat for these 3 accounts - despite the name being wrong - and I presume since my son has had no money taken from his account the bank is fake too? SO SKY should i keep the phoners and damn yolur eyes or do what I THOUGHT was the right thing and try ONCE MORE to go through your **bleep**ty phone service and get this resolved. Once more, are you a scam enabler or a responsible company!

@TBJ66

If you are not a Sky Mobile customer do you have any other services from Sky as usually these scammers get hold of account details by sending out fake emails or making fake calls premtingbto be from Sky.

Re: SKY MOBILE ARE SCAMMING ME

No, and never will be - now. Thru forgetfulness and confused anger I didnt say - and in the long and boring version, my son who used to live with us during covid was the one presumably the target of the scam - however he is not the name on the 3 accounts (its a not very close version) and moved out 3 years ago. Neither is he a sky customer. They must have been convinced very easily since the name doesnt match any real information (electoral rolls or other potential trawling site) and the bank deets are wrong. But he IS the one who was phoned so they got his (non sky) mobile number -maybe they cold called and he seemed a likely target, i dont know.

Hi @TBJ66   My apologies for not reading your very long post, it is difficult to read without paragraphs. However if I am reading the gist of it, you are a victim of the famous account takeover scam or somebody is using your address.
