SIM card for 5g tablet

I have just got a Samsung Tablet that is connected to my phone plan, does the tablet come with a separate SIM card or is one already installed?

Only if you ordered a dataplan.

(Alternatively tether to your phone)

When you ordered the tablet did you also

order a data plan for it because if you don't you will be restricted to using it on a Wi-Fi network only unless you order one.

...there will be a monthly charge of course.

If you plan to have your phone with you at the same time then tethering could be cheaper.
